Maths
This week I have decided to move onto subtraction facts to help the children increase their maths knowledge. Again, if your child is having trouble working these out use objects to help them work it out.
10 - 3 = 7 - 2 = 10 - 4 = 8 - 3 = 10 - 7 = 9 - 4 = 10 - 5 =

6 - 1 = 10 - 6 = 5 - 3 = 2 - 2 = 3 - 2 = 20 - 10 = 20 - 5 =

100 - 99 = 99 - 9 = 20 - 2 = 29 - 9 =

Room 9 Term 2 Week 6

Reading as we do each week.

Special Activity
In writing we have been focussing on instructions. But we have also begun to look at our audience and consider WHY we are writing texts. For homework this week you are required to copy/rewrite/publish a favourite family recipe.
WHY? I will photocopy it and make up a Room 9 recipe book.
Here are the success criteria:
 It MUST be on A4 paper.
 It must be neat and tidy with no spelling mistakes.
 It should begin with the ingredients you need.
 Then it should have clear, easy to follow directions with bossy words.
 It should be decorated with a tidy boarder and a picture (either drawn by you, a photo or a photocopied image from the original recipe book.)

BOOK WEEKS
The school will be hosting its annual book weeks from the 13th June to Friday 24th June. This event usually has a character dress up day as one of the fun activities. This year the dress up day will be on Friday 17th June. Each child comes to school dressed up as a character from a book. They also need to bring the book with them to share with the class on that day as well as to hold while they parade on the stage in front of the school. You may like to start discussing options with your child now.

Homework Room 8 Term 2 Week 6
