Homework Room 8 Term 1 Week 7 Group 2

Reading
Each night your child should come home with reader from school. If they have had an instructional reading lesson with their teacher they will bring a book home at the level they are reading at instructionally. If they haven’t read with the teacher that day they choose a book from their group book box to bring home. This book will be 1 or 2 levels below your child’s instructional reading age – so it may be easier for them to read.
PLEASE NOTE: If your child does not bring their reader back to school the next day, a new book will not be taken home the following night.

This week in Room 8 we are focusing on the blend ‘ch’. On the line below please get your child to practise writing the blend ‘ch’.

Get your child to brainstorm as many words with the blend ‘ch’ with you. This is to be completed in their homework books.

Spelling
Please refer to the high frequency word sheet that is glued into your child’s book. I am working on these words with your child during reading time as they are essential to their reading and writing skills.

Maths
Please continue to help your child learn their basic facts to 5. This is something that children need constant practice with, as it takes a while to learn instantly.
Matheletics is another great way to increase your child’s knowledge and skills in maths.
